This Privacy Policy explains how Yatio handles information when you use the mobile application. The app is designed as a local-first necklace preview tool and does not require an account.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to the iOS application and to communications you send for support. It does not govern Apple, your device provider, your email provider, or another service you independently choose to use.
2. Photos and Camera Content
You may select a photo containing a necklace through the iOS photo picker. The app processes the selected image on your device to isolate the necklace and prepare a transparent cutout. You may also grant camera permission to preview the necklace over a live front-camera view.
Selected photos and live camera frames are not uploaded to our servers. Camera frames are processed transiently for placement and are not automatically retained. A composed try-on image is stored only when you choose to save it.
3. On-Device Processing
The app uses on-device computer vision to separate a necklace and estimate its placement from visible face, neck, and shoulder information. This processing is used only to render the requested preview. It is not used to identify you, authenticate you, or create a biometric profile.
4. Local Records and Retention
Imported necklace photos, extracted cutouts, app preferences, and try-on images you save may be kept in the app's private storage on your device. Imported necklace photos remain available on the home screen until you delete them. Saved looks remain in local history until you delete them, clear the history, or remove the app.
Removing the app may permanently remove local records unless your device platform independently restores app data from a backup.
5. How Information Is Used
Information available to the app is used to import necklace photos, isolate a necklace, estimate preview placement, apply adjustments, save results you choose, and prepare an image for the iOS share sheet. We do not use photos or placement information for advertising, cross-app tracking, data brokerage, or remote AI model training.
6. Apple and Other Services
The app relies on Apple-provided features such as the photo picker, camera permissions, local storage, on-device frameworks, and the share sheet. Apple may handle technical information under its own terms and privacy policy.
A saved image leaves the app only when you deliberately use a system sharing action and select a destination. The selected destination handles that image under its own privacy practices.
7. Support Communications
If you contact us, we may receive the information you include in your message, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, and support question. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, protect the app, and maintain necessary records.
8. Security
We use iOS protections and reasonable development practices to limit access to app data. No device or storage method can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate access controls and backups for your device.
9. Your Choices
- You may decline camera access, although live try-on requires the front camera.
- You may change photo and camera permissions in iOS Settings.
- You may delete imported necklace photos, extracted cutouts, and saved looks within the app.
- You control whether and where a preview image is shared.
10. Children's Privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
11. International Use
You may use the app in different countries and regions. Local app data remains on your device, subject to device and backup settings. Support communications may be processed in a country different from your own as permitted by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or our practices. The revised Policy will show a new effective date and will apply to future use from that date.
